Wendy experienced the joy of skating on wheels, but when the Treadwell Ice Arena opened in 2003, she realized it was just as fun to skate on blades. After being approached to take lessons the first week the rink opened, she hasn’t stopped skating. Since 2003, Wendy has been very active with the Juneau Skating Club in various roles such as registrar, board member, treasurer, skate instructor, and basic skills staff manager.

In the USFS Moves in the Field (MIF) track (which replaced figures), Wendy passed the Gold Masters Adult MIF level and then moved into the standard track, and recently passed the Intermediate level. She is now currently working on the Novice Moves in the Field. In the USFS Dance track, Wendy has passed her Gold ice dances and reached her goal and is now a double gold medalist.

Wendy has such a passion for skating, and her goal is to share the joy of skating with the community of Juneau and Douglas. One of her biggest joys is to watch her grandchildren skate & performing in shows with them.
